Travel Information
By Air
From Birmingham International airport you can take a taxi directly to the University Conference Centre on Edgbaston Park Road, which costs about 30 GBP.
Alternatively, take the Air-Rail link from the Airport terminal building to the `Birmingham International' Railway station. From there, take a train to
Birmingham New Street and change for a train to the University Station as described below.

By Train
The main Birmingham station is Birmingham New Street, where there are several
trains each connecting Birmingham to London, the Midlands and the north.
Alternatively, there are trains connecting London Marylebone
to
Birmingham Moor Street
(which is 5 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street).

From Birmingham New street one needs to take another train to come to the University of Birmingham.
The trains that stop at the University station are the
London Midland trains to Redditch or Longbridge (they usually depart from
platform 11 at the Birmingham New Street Station).

By Coach
The main coach station is now located
in
Oxford Street on the opposite side of Digbeth High Street, called Birmingham Central Coach Station
There is regular service to central London, Gatwick and Heathrow airports.

By Car
Approaching from the north west or south east along the M6:
• Leave at Junction 6 (signposted Birmingham Central) to join the A38(M). |
• At the end of the motorway, keep to the right, go over a flyover, then through some underpasses to join the A38 Bristol Road. |
• The University is on your right, two and a half miles from the city centre. |
Approaching from the M42 north:
Leave at Junction 8 to join the M6 northbound and follow the instructions above.
Approaching from the south west:
• Leave the M5 at Junction 4 signposted Birmingham SW) to join the A38. |
•The University is approximately eight miles from the motorway. |
Approaching from the M40:
• It is easier to turn south on the M42 and leave at Junction 1, heading north on the A38 Bristol Road. |
• The University is approximately eight miles from the motorway. |

By Bus
Numbers 61, 62 and 63 travel from the city center to the Edgbaston campus.

By Taxi
A taxi from the airport to the University (conference centre) costs about 30 GBP and a taxi from the city centre less than 10 GBP.
