I am an Associate Professor at the School of Mathematics of the University of Birmingham. Before that, I was an Assistant Professor (Akademischer Rat auf Zeit) at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Bonn, where I completed my Habil. in 2017. I obtained my PhD from UC Berkeley in 2012 under the supervision of Michael Christ, and before that I graduated from the University of Porto in 2006 with a Lic. in Mathematics.

I am very broadly interested in mathematical analysis. My research focuses on harmonic analysis with special emphasis on sharp inequalities, oscillatory integrals and restriction theory for the Fourier transform. More recently I became interested in uncertainty principles and nonlinear Fourier analysis.

My research is supported by an EPSRC New Investigator Award for the project "Sharp Fourier Restriction Theory".
