By Train

The University of Birmingham has its own train station: there are direct trains from Cardiff, Cheltenham and Nottingham to this station. The main Birmingham station is Birmingham New Street, where there are several trains each connecting Birmingham to London, the Midlands and the north.
Alternatively, there are trains connecting London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street (which is 5 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street).

For timetables and ticket reservations, please visit the National Rail Enquiries website.

From Birmingham New Street one needs to take another train to come to the University of Birmingham. Most of the trains that stop at Birmingham University are the West Midland trains to Redditch or Bromsgrove (they often depart from platform 12B at Birmingham New Street Station).

The Watson building is within 10 minutes walk of the University station. See the Campus map for more details.
