2. Installing the GlossLite Plugin

2.1 Download

The GlossLite Plugin is provided in the main GLOSS distribution (which you will also need, of course). Please install the latest version of GLOSS and jEdit (we recommend not to use the 'stable' versions) and follow the instructions here.

2.2 Install

Please note you must have Gloss installed on your system before you can use the GlossLite jEdit Plugin.

  1. The GlossLitePlugin folder will be found in the Gloss Installation directory: for Windows systems this is normally C:\Program Files\Gloss\gloss-1.0.
  2. In the GlossLitePlugin folder you will find two jar files (or links to jar files) GlossLitePlugin.jar and gloss.jar. These should be both be copied to the jEdit folder containing plugin jars. On windows this is usually C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\.jedit\jars for a user's plugins or C:\Program Files\jEdit\jars for system-wide plugins. On unix the relevant directory is usually /home/USERNAME/.jedit/jars.
  3. Now open up jEdit, or restart it if you already had it open. The plugin manager allows you to start or stop the plugin and the plugin menu should contain entries for Gloss.
