The Lagrange Polynomial

Last year, and again in Worksheet 3, we have seen how one can construct a polynomial through a set of data points by generating a system of equations in the unknown coefficients and solving it.

We then introduced a method to write down the polynomial without having to go through the cumbersome calculations. This lead to the Lagrange Polynomial :
