James Ross Whitley

I am a PhD student at the University of Birmingham in the School of Mathematics. I was previously studying under Dr. Anton Evseev, and now under Dr. Simon Goodwin as part of the Algebra group here. My research is on the representation theory of finite dimensional algebras, with a current focus on Hecke algebras related to the symmetric group and other finite Weyl groups.

I graduated from the University of Warwick in 2015 with a MMath (Hons), and did my 4th Year Project under Dr. Bruce Westbury on "6j-Symbols of Uq(sln(C))".

Pre-prints: "Vertices for Iwahori-Hecke algebras and the Dipper-Du conjecture" (2018).

My office is Room 315 in the Watson Building and I can be contacted by email at:
