Satellite Event: GAP tutorial

The CoDiMa project will be running a two-part tutorial on the computational algebra system GAP on Monday 22nd and Friday 26th July 2019.
The instructor will be Alexander Konovalov.

To allow for travel on Monday morning, we will begin at 1pm on Monday with the Software Carpentry lesson "Programming with GAP". The tutorial on Friday will run in the morning and will cover more advanced topics, including sessions on avoiding common pitfalls while programming group-theoretical algorithms, debugging and profiling, and other aspects of programming in GAP. It will finish around Friday 1pm to permit a convenient return journey.

We encourage all participants — especially those who employ some computational methods to their research — to attend both tutorials.

The webpage of the tutorial is available here.

Financial support

Limited financial support to cover accommodation and subsistence for attending both days of the GAP tutorial is available to PhD students from UK universities.
Please see the webpage of the tutorial for more details.
